External Thermal Insulation System
We apply the external thermal insulation system as a complete build-up, from surface preparation and bonding and fixing the insulation boards to the reinforced base coat and final finish.
We treat the building envelope as a single system, planning external insulation, thermal insulation, surface preparation and facade cladding together according to the existing structure, facade details and selected materials.
External thermal insulation is an application system made up of components such as insulation boards, bonding, mechanical fixing, reinforcing mesh, base coat and final finish. Thermal insulation is the core technical performance that this system is intended to provide through the correct materials, thicknesses and details.
Facade cladding does more than determine the final appearance; depending on the selected system, it forms part of the protective layer that completes the facade against rain, sunlight, impact and surface wear. For this reason, we bring all decisions from the substrate to the final finish into one facade plan.
The required work items are determined after reviewing the existing facade, building type, surface condition, insulation needs and intended exterior appearance.
We apply the external thermal insulation system as a complete build-up, from surface preparation and bonding and fixing the insulation boards to the reinforced base coat and final finish.
We assess and apply EPS, mineral wool and the other components required by the system according to the building characteristics, critical details and the intended insulation performance.
From decorative render and paint systems to stone, ceramic or panel cladding, we resolve the selected finish together with the substrate, junction and installation details.
In an external insulation system, compatibility between the insulation boards, adhesive, mechanical fixings, reinforced base coat, corner profiles and final finish is just as important as the insulation board itself. The condition of the existing wall and the manufacturer's technical requirements are considered together when selecting the system.
Board thickness or material type should not be selected simply by habit. The appropriate system is defined after evaluating the building envelope, facade orientation, existing wall construction and detail solutions.
The exact scope is determined according to the building height, condition of the existing render and paint, facade area, scaffolding requirements, insulation system and selected exterior cladding.
Existing render, paint, cracks, blistering, signs of moisture, facade geometry and details affecting the application are inspected.
Facade area, insulation material, board thickness, fixing and profile requirements, and application stages are determined.
The required access system is installed, and windows, ground surfaces, landscaping and fixed elements are protected before work begins.
Insulation boards, bonding, mechanical fixing and system details are applied in accordance with the manufacturer's requirements.
The base coat, reinforcing mesh, corner profiles, window returns, drip details and required junctions are completed.
The decorative finish or selected facade cladding is applied, then the surface, junctions and cleanliness are checked in preparation for handover.
The correct sequence of work is important on a facade. We do not begin insulation before the substrate is prepared, or apply the final finish or cladding before the details are resolved.
We inspect the facade, existing surface, critical details, working height and access conditions on site.
We define the insulation system, cladding alternative, quantities, work items and estimated application schedule.
We protect the work area and complete the necessary local repairs to loose surfaces and cracks before application.
We apply board layout, bonding, mechanical fixing and critical facade details according to the specified system.
We complete the reinforcing mesh and base coat, then apply the decorative render, paint or selected cladding.
We inspect the details, surface integrity and cleanliness, and hand over the facade after any required touch-ups.
Window edges, building corners, plinths, parapets, balcony returns and junctions between different materials are as important as large flat surfaces. Throughout the application, we make sure the system remains continuous at these points.
The scope can range from a complete external insulation system to facade renovation and cladding only, depending on the existing condition of the building. Different facade materials can also be used on the same building with controlled junction details.
View Completed WorkExisting facade renovation, external insulation, render and finishing applications.
Stone, wood-effect or decorative cladding combinations together with thermal insulation.
Panel, profile or exterior-grade cladding systems suitable for the design.
Panel and surface solutions suited to the facade rhythm and corporate identity.
Renovation of existing facades with surface repairs, external insulation and a new finish.
Facade accents using different materials at entrances, columns, balcony surrounds or selected surfaces.
Every building has a different wall construction, facade condition and set of details. For this reason, product and application decisions should be finalised after the site survey.
